Head of Finance for an architecture firm

The finance team is made up of eight employees based in Amsterdam City Centre, which is to grow in the near future. The Head of Finance will be the key finance go to person within the organization and will directly manage four employees. The Head of Finance will work very closely with the project control team and legal team being a stand-out teamplayer. Also, it’s important to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders and be viewed as a trusted business partner for not only the CFO, but also other people in the organization.

Cooperation with the project controllers and the legal manager is off most importance to help UNStudio with its core business, designing the most impressive and sustainable buildings.

Key responsibilities:

Overall responsibility for all accounting activities including international compliance with local reporting regulations
Provide management support to all direct reports
Manage monthly and yearly closure
Be involved in various projects for further automation & standardization
Be involved in setting up new entities
Preparation of (monthly) cash flow projections
Treasury Management
Tax reporting
Represent F&A at relevant Management meetings
Manage four team members
Initiate, monitor and track cost savings and improvements
Improving financial performance, and driving Finance objectives
Ensuring policies are in place and followed
Supporting the CFO in various, add-hoc requests
Managing different stakeholders in international perspective (e.d. international MD’s and cluster Directors)

Profile

You have a strong base in Finance, are enthusiastic with the cause of this company, internationally orientated and ready to make the next step. Furthermore, you have experience with managing different stakeholders and therefore are socially skilled.

You have:

A master’s degree in finance or accounting
Strong finance acumen and knowledge of P&L and Balance Sheet (Dutch GAAP)
Minimum of 7 years of relevant international experience in a combined Finance and Accounting role
Proven experience in interpreting financial results to the business along with guiding the business on execution of the financial plan and adjusting or pivoting if and when necessary
Strong helicopter view with verbal and written communication skills, responsible, displays good initiative, strong organizational and analytical skills, diligent and accurate
Experience with ERP systems
Strong Excel skills and ability to develop, create or maintain large complex models
Experience with Payroll Systems (Nmbrs) is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English is a must, and Dutch is a plus)
