Ambitious Group Controller who will act as the right hand of the CFO. 

Function

Together with the CFO you are building a ‘best in practice’ Finance organization and will lead the finance team to the next level. As the Group Controller you ensure strong and timely accounting and reporting throughout the group and you are overseeing and monitoring an effective control environment. In this role you take responsibility for the preparation of the group financial statements in accordance with IFRS/Dutch GAAP and other financial reporting requirements. Based on your financial knowledge you will prepare financial and costs analysis and provide group management with financial advice and information.

Task and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the group annual closing and audit and draft the group financial statements
  • Coordinate Finance team in month-end closing processes and deliver timely monthly group financial reports
  • Set up, document and maintain our group accounting policies, and ensure consistency across the group
  • Collaborate with other finance team members to structurally strengthen our core of financial processes
  • Group tax reporting and accounting and monitoring relationships with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate tax filings
  • Prepare timely 13 wk Cash Flow Forecast in collaboration with the CFO
  • Perform reconciliations on key profit and loss and balance sheet items, identify variances and drive improvements
  • Investigate reporting and control improvement opportunities and implement accordingly
  • Participate in improvement projects on Acquisitions/Post Merger Integration

Profile 

  • At least a Master's degree in Accountancy, Business Administration, Finance or equivalent 
  • Seven years of experience of general experience in finance, controlling or accounting and at least three years of experience in a similar position. Audit firm is a big plus
  • Ability to manage people, activities and processes towards strict deadlines
  • A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which support and enable sound decision making
  • Understanding of financial processes and accounting principles (IFRS, Dutch GAAP)
  • Hands-on attitude, first time right mentality
  • Used to working in a fast, dynamic, multi-national and multi-cultural environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experienced with accounting and reporting software – bonus points for experience with SAP
  • Excellent English and Dutch communication skills 
  • Excellent MS Excel skills and a solid knowledge of other MS Office tools
